Easy PC Cleaner: what is sent

Easy PC Cleaner by Vivid Engineering. This page explains the anonymous usage counts the app can send, and the two counts the website keeps.

Anonymous usage counts (only if you say yes)

The first time you open Easy PC Cleaner it asks "Help improve Easy PC Cleaner?". Nothing is sent until you choose "Yes, send counts". If you choose "No thanks", or close the question without answering, nothing is sent.

With usage counts on, the app sends exactly these two kinds of message:

MessageWhenWhat it contains
active The first time the app starts on each day installId, appVersion (for example 1.1.0), windowsVersion (for example 10.0.26100), date (the day, for example 2026-10-01)
clean When a clean finishes and the summary is shown installId, appVersion, filesCleaned, filesSkipped, bytesFreed, categories (which kinds of junk were cleaned, for example browser.chrome.cache or user.temp — at most 20)

Never sent: file names or folder paths, your user name or computer name, why a file was skipped, or anything else from your clean reports.

The install ID is 32 random characters made up by the app when you say yes. It is not based on your computer, your Windows account or anything else about you. It only lets us tell "one person cleaning ten times" from "ten people cleaning once".

Two counts the website keeps for everyone

No IP addresses are stored

To know the country, the server looks at your internet address for that one request and then forgets it. Our counting code never writes your IP address to a database or a log. To stop floods, it keeps only a scrambled (salted hash) form of the address, which cannot be turned back into the address, for a few hours, at most about a day.

If our site is served through Cloudflare, Cloudflare tells us the country of your connection; we still do not store your IP address.

How long it is kept

Usage messages are deleted within 13 months (aggregated into monthly totals first). Every night, messages from a month that began more than 12 months ago are reduced to monthly totals (how many installs were active, how many cleans, how much space was freed, how often each category was cleaned) and the individual messages, with their install IDs, are deleted. Download and update-check counts contain no ID and are kept.
